Since the Industrial Revolution, the importance of ports has gradually increased regarding the development and economic growth of countries. Currently, with the high volume of free international trade, ports play a crucial role in the politics and economy of countries. According to recent statistics, about 80% of the world’s trade by volume and over 70% of global trade by value are carried by sea and are handled by ports all over the world (UNCTAD, 2018). From this perspective, it can be said that the ports play a vital role in the development process of different countries.
